In Monday night’s game against Aston Villa, Super Eagles player Emmanuel Dennis scored his first goal for Nottingham Forest, who were held to a 1-1 draw at home.
In the 163 minutes played for the newly promoted team, the 25-year-old has struggled to make an impact. Although, he has had a number of shot-creating actions for his team.
With a thumping header from a free kick, the three-time First Division A medalist gave Forest the advantage after 15 minutes.
However, Villa tied the score six minutes after Dennis gave Forest the lead with a long-range goal from Ashley Young.
Steve Cooper praised Dennis after the game for helping Forest earn a respectable home point.
He stated to BBC Radio Nottingham that: “He’s waited patiently,” he said, “Emmanuel is an interesting player and I’m delighted to give him his start,” Cooper continued.
“I’m really pleased to see him score and generally do well in the team,” he added.
Forest’s run of five straight losses came to an end with the draw against Villa, which moved them up to 19th place in the league standings.
