Following Liberia’s disqualification of their men’s team from the Africa Cup of Nations Under-17 qualifiers, Liberia’s Sports Minister, Zeogar Wilson has slammed the country’s football body (LFA) for the scandal.

Following this incident, according to OsunDaily News , Liberia has been eliminated from the regional tournament, joining Djibouti and Sudan to be the third country to be disqualified for age cheating.

Two players from Liberia failed an MRI test that was administered by the West African Football Union (WAFU) in accordance with rules set forth by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), and as a result, the team was disqualified on Monday.

“This is totally unacceptable to us. It has brought embarrassment to the country. Those responsible must be held accountable,” The Sports Minister stated.
