The Federal Government has released N6.25billion for the establishment of cattle ranches in local councils affected by banditry in Katsina State.
The Deputy Governor Mannir Yakubu made the announcement on Monday, NAN reports.
Yakubu, also Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, spoke at the Ranch Stakeholders Development Meeting in Katsina.

Local government areas where the grazing reserves would be established are Jibia, Batsari, Dutsinma, Safana, Danmusa, Kankara, Faskari, Sabuwa and Dandume.
Part of the funds released will be used to construct schools, health centres and veterinary clinics in the villages hosting the reserves.
Yakubu assured that the federal and the state governments are determined to ensure peace in places by cattle rustling, kidnapping and other criminalities.
โWe are soliciting for the support and cooperation of the affected communities to provide suitable sites for the execution of these projectsโ, Yakubu said.
