The official trailer of Black Panther 2 (WakandaForever) has been released by Marvel Studios.
The new film tells the story of the people of Wakanda in a world following the death of their king, T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman).
The character of Boseman was not recast in the new film, rather the new film is considered to be a tribute to his legacy.
The movie was expected to have been released a long time ago but Boseman passed away on August 28 from stage-four colon cancer.
Boseman’s death saw the crew readjust the script to account for the loss. After director Ryan Coogler decided not to recast TโChalla or use a CGI rendition of his character in the sequel.
Obstacles ranging from stunt injuries that left Wright hospitalized and COVID-19 regulations delayed the filmโs release multiple times.
There are speculations that TโChallaโs tech-genius sister Shuri (Letitia Wright) would assume the central role.
In the first teaser for the film, the words, “The King lives and the Panther… forever in us…” are painted in Wakandan on a mural of T’Challa in Wakanda.
The new trailer also includes fighting scenes as a new Black Panther is unveiled.
The premiere of Black Panther 2 has been slated for November 11.
