The UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital management has condemned the recent attack on members of staff of the hospital while on their duty posts by some hoodlums.
It warned that the hospital would not tolerate any form of attack or harassment of its staff in the course of discharging their duties.
Our Correspondents had reported that members of the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD), had embarked on a warning strike in protest of the attack on their colleagues.
Some hoodlums and relatives of a patient who died after being brought into the Accident and Emergency Department of the hospital on Thursday, July 28, 2022, alongside others, had assaulted some doctors and nurses on duty and disrupted activities within the medical institution.

The NARD, UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital chapter, in a statement after an emergency meeting signed by Solomon Ilori and Felix Olaomi, the chapter President and the Secretary, respectively, and made to journalists in Osogbo on Friday, July 29, 2022, had withdrawn all forms of clinical activities in the hospital in protest to the attacks.
They have now announced resumption of full duties.
The UNIOSUN hospital management on its part, in a signed statement, assured its members of staff that those involved in the attack will face the wrath of the law.
The Head of Corporate Affairs Department of the hospital, Christy Oyewole had earlier stated that normalcy had returned to the hospital.
She also revealed that the striking members of the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD), UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital chapter had resumed duties.
Oyewole added that the issue had been resolved and normalcy had returned to the hospital and that the striking doctors had resumed duties.
She stated that the situation was arrested immediately and measures had been put in place to check a repeat of such attack.
