The Spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo, has said he has no idea of the current location of the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.
Speaking during an appearance on Channels Tv ‘Politics Today’ on Wednesday night, Keyamo admitted that Tinubu is not out of the county and will be back in a couple of days.
The Minister of State for Labour and Employment also dismissed speculations that the former Lagos State governor was on a medical trip to a foreign country.
Keyamo also refuted claims that the ruling party has not started campaigns because Tinubu is sick and is out of the country, stressing that only mischief makers are gravely concerned about Tinubu’s whereabouts,
He said, “Our candidate is not in the country currently and I don’t have any information on where he is. I know he will be back in a couple of days but I don’t know the particular day.
“He is also not on a medical trip; I don’t have such information. It is not true that we have not started campaigns because the candidate is sick and is not around.”
Keyamo pointed out that nobody makes a fuss when the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, travelled to Dubai.
He said: “We are all aware that the Presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, travels to Dubai all the time, I don’t see any media intensity on what he is doing in Dubai. Whenever he travels, nobody remembers him until he comes back a week or two later. They know he is the candidate to beat and so the searchlight is on him and we are proud of that.”
APC Women Leader Reveals When Tinubu Will Return To Nigeria
Meanwhile, the Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) Women Leader, Jumoke Okoya-Thomas, has said Tinubu would return to Nigeria within the next 48 hours.
She stated that the former Governor of Lagos State was resting abroad and would return to the country after his vacation is over.
Okoya-Thomas made this known while appearing on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Wednesday.
According to the APC chieftain, Tinubu has never spent more than two weeks outside the country and this will not be an exception.
She said: “I’m a women leader. He will show up very soon, within the next 48 hours. I know Asiwaju. He has never spent more than two weeks outside. Go and Google. Even my own self, when I’m not well. I quickly run out to take a rest.
I am not saying he’s not well. I said, my little self here, when I need to rest, I quickly go out. We all go out to rest.”
