The Zamfara State Government says it has completed all necessary arrangements for the accreditation of some courses being offered by the stateโs College of Agriculture and Animal Science, in a bid to facilitate the approval of the National Board for Technical Education, NBTE.
This was disclosed by the Commissioner of Agriculture, Yaโu Haruna Gamji, during a stakeholders meeting with the management of the College.
The commissioner said the move was part of the governmentโs plans to upgrade the College from monotechnic to polytechnic status.
The commissioner further explained that the state government was making necessary arrangements to renovate the physical structures of the College and provide enough security for a conducive atmosphere for teaching and learning.
Earlier, in his remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Garba Gaya, hinted that the college had suffered years of neglect by past administrations, despite the fact that it was established by the late Sardauna of Sokoto, Sir Ahmadu Bello.
The Management of the College, headed by the Provost, Habibu Mainasara, thanked the Ministry of Agriculture and the state government for coming to the aid of the institution.
