The Zamfara State Government, through its Ministry of Women Affairs, Children and Social Development, has adopted a six-year-old boy whose video was trending on social media, where he expressed grief over the killing of his father and claimed he would take revenge.
A statement by the Ministryโs Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Isah, in Gusau on Thursday said the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Children and Social Development, Dr. Nafisa Maraduna, stated this while receiving the child and his mother in her office.
The commissioner said she was first directed by the state governorโs wife, Hajiya Huriya Lawal, to find out about the boy and his mother so that the state government could support them for better living and necessary counselling.
โThe boy will be receiving counselling from specialists to improve his life and thinking in order to avoid what may happen in future,โ the commissioner added.
โWe have supported the childโs mother with capital to start a business to ease her pain.โ
The statement said the boy and his mother thanked the governorโs wife for the kind gesture, and the mother added that she would also assist in counselling the child. (NAN)
