A former governor of Bauchi State, Isa Yuguda, has stated that President Bola Tinubuโ€™s administration is capable of rescuing Nigeria from its age-long challenges.

He insisted that Tinubu is on the right path to delivering Nigeria from its challenges.

Yuguda spoke after a forum in Abuja on Thursday hosted by the Special Adviser to Tinubu on Energy, Olu Verheijen, commending the Presidentโ€™s policies, particularly in the power sector, as a beacon of hope for the country.

The erstwhile governor appealed to citizens to be patient and allow the reforms to materialise.

According to Yuguda, previous administrations have invested heavily in the power sector with little success.

However, he commended the current governmentโ€™s interventions, corrections, and incentives aimed at improving power distribution to the most vulnerable populations.

He said, โ€œAs a forum, we are duty-bound to know what weโ€™re achieving in government so that we can inform the general public and assure them that the government is indeed working.

โ€œThe interventions, corrections, and incentives the government has implemented to improve power distribution at an affordable level to the most vulnerable populations in this country are truly commendable.โ€

Hardship: Please Letโ€™s Be Calm โ€“ Presidency Begs Nigerians

Meanwhile, the Presidency has appealed to Nigerians to be calm and show understanding amid the current economic reforms by President Bola Tinubuโ€™s administration.

OsunDailyNG reports that the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Delu Bulus-Yakubu, made the appeal on Thursday in an address to mark the 2024 International Poverty Eradication Day in Abuja.

The event was themed Ending Social and Institutional Maltreatment, Acting Together for Peaceful, Inclusive Society

Yakubu said Tinubuโ€™s government is working hard to address the economic situation in the country.

She also urged Nigerians to support the administration to deliver on its mandate and move the country to the next level.

She said, โ€œI want to use this platform to plead with Nigerians with the present economy, the hardship is surmountable and it is a gradual process.

โ€œPlease letโ€™s be calm, show understanding and support the renewed hope of the administration to see our country move to the next level.

โ€œI want to assure Nigerians today that the present administration is working hard and introducing so many policies that will cushion the hardship in our dear country.โ€
