Former presidential spokesman, Reno Omokri has berated the Anambra State Government for keeping quiet over the violence perpetrated by a sit-at-home order given by the Eastern Security Network (ESN).
OsunDailyNG understands that the ESN reportedly shut down markets while enforcing the sit-at-home order in Onitsha area of Anambra State on Friday.
The area was thrown into pandemonium as gunshots were heard while people scampered for safety.
However, the state government has remained quiet over the incident.
Reacting via a post on his Instagram page, Omokri berated the state government for keeping quiet over the dire incident, while taking it upon themselves to set up a high-powered delegation to look into the UTME result scandal of Mmesoma Ejikeme.
He wondered why the same passion was not exhibited in handling the unrest in the state.
Omokri wrote: โToday there were gunshots in Onitsha, the commercial capital of Anambra State.
โIPOB/ESN shut down markets in enforcement of a Friday sit-at-home to protest the continued incarceration of Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of IPOB. Gunshots rented the air, forcing parents to rush to schools to evacuate their children.
โBut the Anambra State Government has not reacted. No statement. No statewide broadcast. No update to calm the citizens.
โYet, this is a state that felt a pressing need to set up a high powered committee to investigate Mmesoma Ejikemeโs JAMB result and give regular updates on that issue to the media.
