Yobe State governor, Mai Mala Buni, has banned public officers from using government vehicles and facilities for personal use.
The governor warned that he would not tolerate the conversion of government vehicles and services to personal use.
He stated this shortly after presiding over the swearing-in of nine newly appointed permanent secretaries into the state civil service.
โThe conversion of government vehicles and facilities to personal use and services at the expense of government work is hereby banned,โ he declared.
Buni ordered that all government vehicles be strictly used for government assignments.
He subsequently ordered the Secretary to the State Government, Head of Service, and Permanent Secretaries to ensure that public officers comply with his directive.
โThe Secretary to the State Government, Head of Service, and Permanent Secretaries are hereby directed to ensure compliance,โ he directed.
Speaking further, the governor warned that the government will not condone wastage or diversion of government resources to sabotage efforts to provide services to the people.
โAs we undertake our second and final term of office, we will ensure that government resources are judiciously and effectively used to improve the welfare of our people,โ he assured.
