Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, and his allies are reportedly in a closed-door meeting with the former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olabode George.
The five aggrieved PDP governors which include Wike, Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Samuel Ortom (Benue), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu) are reportedly discussing pressing matters in Lagos with George and other PDP chieftains.
Other chieftains present at the meeting include the former governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke, and the former governor of Plateau State, Jonah Jang, among others.
According to The PUNCH, Governor Makinde told newsmen before the meeting proceeded behind closed doors, that the governors seeking the resignation of the party’s national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, were being backed by the leaders and elders of the party present at the meeting.
