Governor Nyesom Wike on Wednesday announced the reappointment of Dr. Tammy Danagogo as the Secretary to the Rivers State Government.
The appointment was contained in a statement issued by the media aide to the Governor, Kelvin Ebiri.
According to him, the appointment is with immediate effect.
OsunDaily News reports Danagogo occupied the same position in Wike’s cabinet before resigning to contest the 2023 governorship primary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He however lost out in the race to Wikeโs anointed candidate and former Accountant General of the State, Siminialaye Fubara.
Notwithstanding, the Governor has restored him to his previous position.
The statement to that effect reads: “His Excellency, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, the Executive Governor of Rivers State has approved the re-appointment of Dr.Tammy Wenike Danagogo as the Secretary to the Rivers State Government (SSG).
โThe appointment takes immediate effect.โ
PDP Internal Crisis Continues
Meanwhile, the meeting between the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike on Tuesday was unable to reach a truce on the crisis rocking the major opposition party.
Naija News recalls the members of the BoT met with Wike at the Government House in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
This platform learnt that the meeting which started around 1 pm on Tuesday ended in a deadlock despite the effort of the BoT to end the crisis in the party.
The meeting which was held behind a closed door for almost four hours ended at about 4:35 pm.
The acting Chairman of the PDP BoT, Adolphus Wabara, while addressing newsmen said they had a frank discussion, he, however, stated that there was no conclusion during the meeting.
Wike speaking after the meeting said, โAs the BoT acting chairman said, the most important thing is to have unity. What is important is that the house is united. So, the issue of whether we achieved peace today or not is immaterial.โ
Wike however reiterated that he and his allies are not leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
