Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex socio-cultural organization of the Igbo, has described popular Islamic scholar, Ahmad Gumi, as an enemy of the state.
Ohanaeze made the remark while condemning Gumi for describing the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, as โsatanic.โ
Factional Secretary-General of Ohanaeze, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, said Gumi was trying to declare war on Christians with his comment.
Gumi had called for Wikeโs removal as FCT Minister after the former received an Israeli envoy in Abuja and discussed plans to collaborate with Israel in the area of security.
The Islamic scholar had described Wike as a satanic person, adding that Christians should not be trusted with the security of the country.
Condemning the comment, Isiguzoro urged relevant authorities to take swift action against Gumi.
Isiguzoro said, โLabeling Minister Wike as โsatanic and devilishโ for his efforts to combat insecurity further demonstrates that Sheikh Gumi should be regarded as an enemy of the state.
โGumiโs callous declaration that Christians should not be trusted with security issues is not only discriminatory but also tantamount to a declaration of religious war against Christians.โ
