Big Brother Naija reality show star and on-air personality, Natacha Akide, aka Tacha, has explained why she referred to rappers Blaqbonez and Odumodublvck as โupcoming artistesโ on the last episode of the Big Friday Show With Tacha on Cool FM, Lagos.
DAILY POST recalls that Tacha came under heavy fire on social media for referring to the trio of Blaqbonez, Odumodublvck and Shallipopi as โupcoming artistesโ during her Big Friday Show.
Reacting to the backlash via a video message shared on her social media handles, Tacha explained that referring to the trio as โupcoming artistesโ was not in any way condescending.
She said, โAn episode from the Big Friday Show has gone viral and thereโs no amount of insult Iโve not gotten. Everybody is saying, โTacha called Blaqbonez an upcoming artiste. Tacha called Odumodublvck an upcoming artiste.โ
โIf I called them upcoming artistes, tell me, what is wrong with using the term upcoming artistes? I rushed to Google to see the meaning of the term upcoming musician: โUpcoming musicians are those singers that are no longer new because they have been around for some time and promising to make it big.โ
โNow, how is me calling Blaqbonez an upcoming artiste me putting him down or being condescending? Blaqbonez is my guy, Odumodu is my guy, Shallipopiโฆโ [sic].
