The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Adamu on Wednesday was absent from the reconciliation meeting held by the presidential candidate of the party, Bola Tinubu.
OsunDaily News had earlier reported that Tinubu
met with members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party, and some APC Governors at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.
The meeting was fixed by the ruling party to resolve the issue around the presidential campaign list of the party and finding a way forward ahead of the 2023 general election.
However, Adamu was absent from the reconciliation meeting held on Wednesday.
The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Felix Morka, while giving the reason Adamu was absent at the meeting, said the party Chairman was in touch after sending a representative.
Morka said, “The National chairman was not missing, he was adequately represented by the Deputy National Chairman, North and his counterpart in the South.
“He was in touch with every stakeholder who was in the meeting. The candidate, he did inform them of his inability to be here, but he was effectively represented.”
The National Publicity Secretary in his reaction to the controversy around the party’s campaign funds noted that there were pending issues to be discussed in due course.
He said, “Our campaign financing is really important because, without it, you can’t do a whole lot, but that is a subject that we will discuss in due course.”
APC Sets Up Campaign Council Harmonisation Committee
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has set up a campaign council harmonisation committee to harmonise its controversial Presidential Campaign Council.
The controversy around the list presidential campaign council led to the setting up of the harmonisation committee after failing to reach common ground on several issues.
The spokesperson of the Tinubu/Shettima presidential campaign council (PCC), Festus Keyamo disclosed that the committee had been saddled with the responsibility of reducing the manifesto documents to major highlights.
