Supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and loyalists of David Ombugadu have besieged his home in jubilation to celebrate with him over his victory at the tribunal.
Ombugadu, who received his teeming supporters comprising men, women and youths, who defied the heavy downpour, in his house in Akwanga, Nasarawa North Senatorial District, thanked them for their support and love.
He was heard saying, “Where is my certificate? We have won.”
Earlier, the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, sacked Governor Abdullahi Sule of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and declared Ombugadu as winner of the March 18 gubernatorial poll.
The three-man panel of justices led by Justice Ezekiel Ajayi, while delivering the judgment virtually, said Ombudagu of the PDP won the election.
Ezekiel maintained that the petitioner’s counsel proved the case beyond reasonable doubt, and declared that the Sule’s election stands nullified.
