Femi Adesina, a former presidential spokesman, has disclosed what ex-President Muhammadu Buhari told a delegation led by a First Republic Minister of Aviation, Chief Mbazulike Amaechi, regarding the incarceration of Biafra agitator, Nnamdi Kanu.

Amaechi had led a delegation of Igbo leaders under the aegis of Highly-Respected Igbo Greats to visit Buhari and demand Kanuโ€™s release toward the end of his tenure.

During the meeting, Amaechi had urged Buhari to order Kanuโ€™s release to forestall insecurity in the Southeast.

However, Adesina said Buhari informed the delegation that the request was extremely difficult due to the implications.

Quoting Buhari, Adesina said: โ€œYou have made an extremely difficult demand on me as the leader of this country. The implication of your request is very serious.

โ€œIn the last six years, nobody will say I have confronted the judiciary. We are developing a country, and we have to go through the pains.

โ€œThe demand you have made is heavy, but I will consider it. I am glad to know you closely at this time.

โ€œPlease, accept my sympathy once again on the loss of your wife. May her soul rest in peace.โ€
