Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has said President Bola Tinubuโs administration is not responsible for the incarceration of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Otti made the remark while noting that his administration is working hard to ensure Kanuโs release.
He said his administration has deployed โa different approachโ to secure Kanuโs release.
The governor disclosed this during a media parley in Umuahia, the state capital.
Otti said the โdifferent approachโ would not be made public until it had yielded the desired results.
He pointed out that he has been working underground to secure the IPOB leaderโs release despite not revealing his efforts to the media.
โI believe in results rather than media hype. We do not want media noise. We are working very hard to ensure his (Kanuโs) release,โ he said.
The governor said the administration of President Bola Tinubu was not responsible for the incarceration of Kanu.
โMy personal position is that the new government does not need to inherit the wrong things of the previous administration,โ he said.
