Hadiza Usman, the Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Policy Coordination, says ministers will be assessed quarterly and graded yearly to ensure performance.

Usman disclosed this in a video after a recent meeting with the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, in Abuja.

According to her, the Tinubu administration will ensure each minister delivers on the portfolio assigned to them.

The former Managing Director of Nigeria Port Authority said the assessment is expected to commence in January 2024.

โ€œPresident Bola Ahmed Tinubu has mandated us to engage with ministries to ensure they meet up with their deliverables.

โ€œWe will have a quarterly assessment and be graded yearly for all the Ministries.

โ€œAssessment will commence for all the Ministries from January 2024, where we will determine what has been delivered. At the end of the year, there will be a full performance scorecard.

โ€œWe will have clarity on exactly what deliverables are for each Minister and will be contained in a performance bondโ€, he stated.

DAILY POST recalls that Tinubu, on August 21, inaugurated 45 ministers to drive his eight-point agenda, including food security, ending poverty, economic growth and job creation, access to capital and fighting corruption.
