Reactions have trailed the statement by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) that the best forensic pathologists carried out the autopsy on the body of late rapper and singer, Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

The Police, in an update on its X (formerly Twitter) platform page on Tuesday, said the autopsy was conducted in front of the family members of the late singer.

It also disputed rumours that the process was twisted by unscrupulous individuals who did not want the singer to obtain justice.

It said, “As assured by the CP, the autopsy was promptly carried out, by some of the best forensic pathologists in the country, in the presence of family members.

“While we await the result, we urge everyone to remain calm and confident in the process.

“In the meantime, other aspects of the investigation are also progressing well. There is absolutely no underhand dealing, as feared by some concerned persons. In the meantime, other aspects of the investigation are also progressing well.”

Following the development, some netizens asked the police to be transparent in the disclosure of the results of the autopsy and ensure that the late singer gets justice.

@MarkOnyeabor wrote: “Just know it that truth has been compromised anytime it takes much time than necessary for a king’s palace to pronounce judgment in a case between the rich and poor.”

@mascotwin wrote: “Are they about you to announce something controversial that they are forewarning Nigerians? 🤔

@eyeweysee01 wrote: “You didn’t allow anyone in, so don’t involve family members. My God! Do you guys have to lie about everything?

@d_problemsolver wrote: “Will this stop the result from being manipulated?

@jidechukwuconf1 wrote: “I was eager to hear the result, but since is NIGERIAN POLICE stuff, I just kukuma rest..”

@SoromfechiDavid wrote: “All these just to make it look credible that you’re doing the right thing?

You don’t need evidence to prove to the people that you have done the right thing. These dramas are unnecessary. The people will see and know when you have done the right thing. No evidence is needed.”

@Chris_MD1 wrote: “Is it the procedure that matters or the result? Doing it in the presence of family members does not guarantee transparency cos the family members are not trained to interpret whatever features they see. Since the govt is involved, they’ll likely say things that will calm the youths.”
