Nigerian Grammy-award-winning singer, Ayo Balogun, professionally known as Wizkid, has resumed his long-standing rift with his colleague, David Adeleke, better known as Davido, sparking a heated exchange with fans on social media.
OsunDailyNG reports that drama started on Tuesday after Davido announced his first single of 2024, revealing that the track will be a hit.
However, Wizkid, on his X page, wrote: โP***y boys dropping mid again, una don tire! Make una go rest small!โ
Although the โOjuelegbaโ hitmaker did not mention Davidoโs name, fans interpreted the tweet as a direct shot at Davido.
A fan of Davido, however, fired back at Wizkid, accusing him of using the โAssuranceโ crooner to chase clout.
The user wrote: โSo if you no beef @davido your song wonโt sell??โ
Responding, Wizkid said: โI donโt beef wack niggas! We all know heโs wack! No talent!
Wizkidโs response and follow-up tweets implied his messages were aimed towards Davido.
The singer further dismissed Davidoโs extensive records archives, describing them as โtrash,โ arguing that his catalogue boasts superior songs.
He added, โ80 trash ! We got 80 albums for any song yโall drop! P***y boys!โ
In other news, popular singer, Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, popularly known as Skales, has stated that he has written a lot of hit songs.
He disclosed that this occurred during their days at Empire Mates Entertainment (EME).
Speaking during an appearance on Curiosity Made Me Askโ hosted by content creator, Bae U Barbie, Skales revealed he co-wrote some of the songs in Wizkidโs debut album, โSuper Star,โ including the bonus track โWiz Party.โ
He, however, stated that Wizkid also wrote songs for him, including the hit โMukulu.โ
Skales said, โBack in EME, we were a team so we used to write songs for each other. I wrote songs for Wizkid. He also wrote songs for me, too.
โHe wrote โMukuluโ for me and I wrote his song โWiz Party.โ As I said, EME was a collective, so we did teamwork.โ
