Russian officials have confirmed the death of the boss of Wagner Group, Yevgeny Prigozhin after genetic analysis of bodies found in Wednesday’s plane crash.
OsunDailyNG had earlier reported that the incident happened in Bologovsky district in the Tver region, 60 miles north of Moscow.
Prigozhin died alongside seven passengers and three crew who were on board the Embraer aircraft.
The Investigative Committee in a statement released on Sunday said the identities of all 10 victims had been established and corresponded to those on the flight’s passenger list.
The statement did not offer any details as to what might have caused the crash.
“Molecular and genetic tests have been completed as part of the investigation of the plane crash in the Tver region. According to their finding, all ten victims have been identified. They fully match the list on the flight manifest,” the committee said in a statement to Interfax, the Russian newswire.
The Kremlin has denied speculation it was to blame for the crash.
