Injured Nigerian forward, Victor Osimhen is reportedly getting better as he continues to push to attain full fitness before Napoliโ€™s UEFA Champions League game against AC Milan.

After losing 4-0 to AC Milan in the Serie A on Sunday without Victor Osimhen, Napoli are sweating very hard to get their talisman back on the pitch before the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals game against the same team on April 12.

Due to a muscular injury he suffered while representing Nigeria during the March international break, Osimhen is expected to be sidelined for at least two weeks. He has already spent over a week from the stipulated recovery period.

So far in the 2022-2023 season, Osimhen has been an essential element of Luciano Spallettiโ€™s team. His importance in the team was evident in how AC Milan humiliated Napoli at their supposed fortress, the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Sunday.

Note that the 24-year-old Nigerian forward has scored 25 goals in 29 games across all competitions to aid Spallettiโ€™s squad in taking a 16-point lead in the Serie A standings and advancing to the Champions League round of eight.

On Tuesday, Napoli revealed that Victor Osimhen had undergone reevaluationย at the teamโ€™s Castel Volturno training center.

According to Italian writer and transfer specialist Paolo Bargiggia, Osimhen is making every effort to make an early return and will probably play against Milan on April 12.

โ€œI inquired about Victor Osimhen and I can give you some news. The center forward will do everything to recover as soon as possible,โ€ Bargiggia said according to Tutto Napoli.

โ€œThe attacker, on Monday, even if it will be Easter Monday, will try to run trying to test his condition. There will be other checks to understand if he will be able to play in the Champions League. The goal is to return against Milan.โ€

Note that due to the injury, Victor Osimhen wonโ€™t be available when Napoli go to Lecce on Friday at the Stadio Via Del Mare for a Serie A game.
