Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen has apologized to his manager at Napoli, Rudi Garcia after protesting publicly against his substitution.
As usual, Victor Osimhen was the centre forward for Napoli in their Italian Serie A game against Braga on Sunday, September 24, but he wasnโt able to score for the 4th time in a row.
He was however very close to scoring but Bolognaโs goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski made a fingertip save to deny him his first open play goal in five games.
To make it worse, the 24-year-old Nigerian international had the golden opportunity to put his team ahead via the penalty spot in the 73rd minute.
Unfortunately for him and the Italian Serie A champions, Victor Osimhen played the spot-kick off the target as the game ended in a 0-0 draw.
Before the game ended, coach Rudi Garcia decided to substitute Osimhen for Giovanni Simeone in the 86th minute in the quest to get a winner.
That decision didnโt sit well for Osimhen and some sections of the fans who felt the Nigerian striker was still needed in the game. Hence, Osimhen protested angrily at the coach as he walked off the pitch.
This evening, September 25, transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, took to his X page to post that โVictor Osimhen has apologized today to manager Garcia and Napoli teammates after showing disappointment when subbed off yesterdayโ.
Also, the Italian journalist claimed that Napoli has passed a vote of confidence on coach Rudi Garcia whose team is currently sitting in the 7th spot with 8 points in five games after two wins, two draws, and a defeat.
