The Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has opined that Nigeria is not progressing because unqualified persons hold several government positions.

Obi made this remark on Saturday via his verified Twitter handle.

The former Anambra State Governor noted that the development is creating setbacks for Nigeria in different forms.

Part of his tweet read, โ€œWe are all aware of the problems and the issues confronting us. Bad leaders. Insecurity. Corruption.

โ€œMismanagement of the economy. Incompetent people holding positions at different levels of government. Abject poverty in the midst of plenty.โ€

Obi also lamented that people continue to make a mistake every four years by electing persons who make promises and then disappoint the people.

He, however, warned that the mistake must not happen in 2023.

He added that Nigerians must seize the opportunity of the forthcoming election to effect a positive change in leadership.
