Sporting Lagos midfielder Chinedu Ufere says he felt delighted to have scored his first goal for the club.
Ufere scored the first goal for Sporting Lagos in their 2-2 draw against Shooting Stars at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Wednesday.
The combative midfielder said the goal was as a result of the confidence instilled in him by the coaches.
Jonathan Alukwu netted the second goal for Sporting Lagos in the game.
“I was so excited for the goal because when the pass came in, I had no other option than to shoot after seeing the goalkeeper at the first pole,” he told the club’s media.
“I took the responsibility as the coach has been begging, I needed to go for the goal because we needed it.
“This is the first goal and I hope to score more for the club.”
Ufere has featured in 15 games for Sporting Lagos this season.
