Yobe State Police Command said its operatives have arrested two suspects for vandalising a transformer around the Jakusko axis of the state.

This was made known in a situation report shared with newsmen on Friday by the Commandโ€™s Public Relations Officer, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim.

According to the report the suspected vandals were intercepted and arrested on 24th January 2024 at about 0200hrs by a team of Policemen in conjunction with Vigilante groups led by ASP Lukman Usman.

โ€œA team of Policemen in conjunction with Vigilante groups led by P&G ASP Lukman Usman while on patrol intercepted and arrested one Bala Saidu โ€˜Mโ€™ of Numan LGA, Adamawa State and Suraja Adamu โ€˜Mโ€™ of Gamawa LGA, Bauchi State with eight (8) jerrycans of diesel fuel and a pipe along Jakusko/Gololo roadโ€, the report read.

It added that, during interrogation, the suspects confessed to having committed the act, hence the case is under investigation.

Recall that, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) impounded a truck carrying about 450 vandalised railway sleepers on Tuesday in Damaturu and arrested three suspects in connection to the crime.
