Two persons died in a road crash along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, Ogun State, on Saturday.

Three others were also said to have sustained various degrees of injuries in the auto accident, which occurred at about 5:16 pm on the popular Lagos-Ibadan way, around Sandcrate in Ogun.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) said in a statement on Sunday that four male adults and four female adults were involved in the crash.

According to the statement signed by the FRSC spokesperson in Ogun, Florence Okpe, one male adult and two female adults were injured.

โ€œTwo were recorded dead from the fatal crash, one male adult and one female adult,โ€ she stated.

She stated that the lone crash involved a Toyota bus, with registration number, LND537XA.

โ€œThe suspected causes of the lone crash were speed tyre burst and loss of control.

โ€œThe injured victims were taken to Victory Hospital Ogere and the corpses were deposited at FOS morgue, Ipara,โ€ she stated.

Meanwhile, the Sector Commander of the FRSC in Ogun State, Anthony Uga, had expressed pain over the crashes on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, blaming drivers for refusing to drive within the stipulated speed limit.

Uga sympathised with the families of the victims, advising passengers to report any erring driver by calling the Toll-free number, 122.
