Former US President Donald Trumpโs Twitter account has been reinstated on the social media platform.
Elon Musk, the companyโs new owner, put a question to Twitter users on Saturday asking if they thought the former president should be allowed back on the platform.
A sizable majority of 52% of the more than 15 million users who took part in the poll voted to reinstate the former US president.
โThe people have spoken. Trump will be reinstated,โ Musk tweeted of the former US presidentโs account, which was banned last year after a mob of his supporters attacked the US Capitol.
Trumpโs Twitter account was permanently suspended from the platform in January 2021, after he was accused of inciting violence through his tweets following the Capitol Hill riots and was termed a โrisk.โ
