A 55-year-old woman, simply identified as Ifeoma, has slumped and died while giving testimony during a church service.

The deceased slumped at approximately 8:48 a.m. on September 8th during the testimony hour.

According to witnesses, Ifeoma came forward singing to share her testimony when she suddenly collapsed.

Immediate efforts were made to rush her to a nearby hospital, but she was later referred to the General Hospital in Isolo, where doctors confirmed her death.

Lagos State Police spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident to Vanguard.

He disclosed that police detectives were dispatched to the hospital but were informed that Ifeomaโ€™s husband and family had already taken her body to Anambra State for burial.

The exact cause of her sudden death remains unclear, and authorities have not yet announced whether an investigation will be launched into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Meanwhile, authorities in Lagos have arrested 19-year-old Fatimo Agboke in connection with the fatal stabbing of her neighborโ€™s son, Faroul Azeez.

The violent incident occurred during a confrontation in the Ijegun area of Lagos State on September 9, 2024, at approximately 9:20 p.m.

State Police Public Relations Officer Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the details of the case on Wednesday.

According to reports, Agboke and the 20-year-old Azeez were involved in an altercation when Agboke allegedly used a broken bottle to stab Azeez in the neck, leading to his death.

Hundeyin stated, โ€œOn September 9, 2024, a complaint was received from the Ijegun area of the state, reported at Isheri-Oshun Division by a man that a neighbour had an argument with his son.

โ€œThe victim was stabbed with a broken bottle on his neck by Agboke, which caused him grievous bodily harm. He gave up the ghost during an attempt to rush to a hospital for medical attention.

โ€œThe division raced to the scene where the lifeless body of the deceased was seen on the ground, facing up in a pool of blood with a deep cut on his neck. The corpse has been removed and deposited at Mainland General Hospital in Yaba for autopsy.โ€

Hundeyin reported that Agboke has been detained and an investigation is ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
