The spokesman of the All Progressives Congress presidential campaign council, Festus Keyamo has said that the absence of the party’s flag bearer, Bola Tinubu has become a nightmare for the opposition.
Naija News recalls that the absence of Tinubu at the peace signing pact which had other presidential candidates in attendance had raised various questions on the whereabouts of the former Lagos governor.
Speaking on the APC flag bearer’s absence via a tweet on Friday, Keyamo said that the opposition is unsettled over Tinubu.
He tweeted, “Whether he’s around or not, they’re scared. @officialABAT has become their nightmare. The inquiries are out of FEAR as to what he is up to.
“The biggest political strategy is to keep your opponent guessing! Even by mere absence.”
A chieftain of the APC on Friday disclosed that the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was advised to travel abroad.
Naija News reported that Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima, departed Nigeria on Saturday, September 24, ahead of the start of the electioneering campaigns.
Shettima, however, had returned to the country to represent his principal at the signing of the peace accord by presidential candidates in the 2023 elections.
Giving details on why the former governor of Lagos State travelled, a member of the APC presidential campaign council, Ayo Oyalowo told journalists on Friday that the presidential hopeful had to depart Nigeria as he was not allowed to rest in the country.
Oyalowo, who spoke on ARISE TV Programme, said Tinubu could not rest in Lagos, and they could not allow him to rest also in Abuja, hence he was advised to go abroad.
“Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is in London. He cannot rest in Lagos, they will not let him rest. He came to Abuja most of the time, and they will still not let him rest,” Oyalowo said.
