The statement read: โThe reappointment of the Provost and Medical Director follows his impressive track record of achievements during the first term of his four-year administration.
โDr Alausa, while presenting the letter and congratulating the Provost on his reappointment, tasked him with working harder to ensure that the hospital continues to provide quality healthcare and to build upon the successes of his first term.โ
Earlier, the President approved the reappointment of Prof. Abdullahi Mustapha as the Director General of the National Biotechnology Research and Development Agency (NBRDA) for a second five-year term.
The reappointment was conveyed in a letter signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, recognizing Mustaphaโs commendable achievements over the past four years.
Prof. Mustaphaโs second tenure commenced on October 31, 2024, in accordance with the provisions of Sections 10 (1) and (3) of the National Biotechnology Development Agency (Establishment) Act, 2022.
Experts view this decision as a testament to President Tinubuโs confidence in Mustaphaโs leadership and capability to drive innovation in the biotechnology sector.
His continued role is expected to foster advancements in food security, enhance pharmaceutical production, and position Nigeria at the forefront of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
