President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday paid a condolence visit to the family of late Rotimi Akeredolu, former governor of Ondo State.
The President was received by Ondo State Governor, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and his deputy, Olayide Adelami, in Owo, where Akeredolu’s remains was interred last week.
Speaking during the visit, Tinubu described the former governor as a fearless fighter who had relentlessly fought for good governance in the country.
“He truly embodied courage and fearlessness, especially in his relentless pursuit of good governance. I can only describe him as a fearless fighter.
“His unwavering commitment to the welfare of his people and his courageous nature will always be remembered,” he said.
Also speaking, the Olowo, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye, who welcomed the President to Owo, also described the late Akeredolu as a true democrat who was fully committed to democratic principles and practices.
Tinubu also visited Pa Reuben Fasoranti, the leader of the pan-Yoruba organisation, Afenifere.
