President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday met behind closed doors with the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr Ola Olukoyede.
Olukoyede, was screened and confirmed as chairman of EFCC by the Senate on Wednesday.
His confirmation followed his nomination by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Erstwhile EFCC Chairman Abdulrasheed Bawa had resigned following his suspension from office by President Bola Tinubu, citing alleged abuse of office.
Among those confirmed by the upper legislative chamber was the National Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer of Social Investment Programme Agency (SIPA), Mrs Halima Shehu.
Before they were confirmed after a screening that lasted for three hours, salient questions were asked, particularly on financial crime issues, which were directed to Olukoyede.
Senator representing Borno South, Ali Ndume, asked and expressed concerns on clash of responsibilities with other similar agencies, specifically the National Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU).
