An aide to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 2023 presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, Daniel Bwala has mocked President Bola Tinubu over the large number of his ministerial nominees.
Bwala in a statement via his Twitter account on Friday lamented the growing number of aides that would be in President Tinubuโs cabinet.
Comparing America with Nigeria, the PDP chieftain said the United States which is one of the richest countries in the world has a limited number of cabinet members but Nigeria which is one of the poorest and should be cutting down on the cost of governance has already nominated 49 ministers, excluding other aides that would still join them.
Bwala mocked the Tinubu administration, saying the council chambers of the presidential villa would not be enough for Federal Executive Council (FEC) meetings and the Tinubu government may have to use the Eagle Square of National Stadium for such meetings.
โThe US as the largest economy, military and possibly states (50) on earth, has a total of 24 cabinet members, 15 are ministers referred to as secretaries, nine are SAs referred to as non-secretary cabinet members. Nigeria as one of the poorest counties in the world with 36 states has 49 ministers and still counting; 22 SAs and still counting. As it stands today the council chambers seats would not contain FEC meeting. They may need to use the eagle square or national stadium for FEC meetings. Thatโs how our hopes are being renewed.โ Bwala tweeted.
