I was in my room, stuck. I needed a career change, but I had no idea where to start. I was at that classic career crossroads, craving growth, but lacking fuel. Then, a friend tagged me in a WhatsApp status “PalmPay Purple Woman 2.0: Accelerating the Future of Payments – Women, AI and Fintech.”
I saw it and ignored it more than once. On a rough day at work, I remembered the PalmPay Purple Woman post. I went back, found the online flyer, and on a whim, I applied. I didn’t expect much, honestly, but from the moment I got the call that I’d been selected as one of the 100 lucky women, things started to shift.
The PalmPay Purple Woman 2.0 Masterclass was packed with knowledge in three days, with a focus on digital marketing, data analysis, HR, UI/UX, and project management. I had not explored these areas before. Women leaders shared their stories. Women in tech, women balancing careers and families, women building empires. It wasn’t just informative, it was deeply energising.
That’s when I realised that PalmPay isn’t just your average finance app enabling people to pay bills and make payments, but that PalmPay was driving financial inclusion and investing in people’s development – building real skills, exploring new territory, and unlocking new doors.
That event was also part of PalmPay’s International Women’s Day celebration. The theme “Accelerate Action” wasn’t just a slogan; it was a reminder that women aren’t waiting in the wings, we’re already shaping the future of fintech, and platforms like PalmPay are creating the space for us to thrive.
Then came the surprise announcement that only 10 participants would be selected for a six-month internship at PalmPay. With sweaty palms, a racing heart, and a dry mouth, I heard my name…number 10. I was in total disbelief. Shaky legs and all, I walked up to that stage, knowing something had changed.
Now? I’m three months into my internship in the marketing department, and it’s been nothing short of amazing. My team is brilliant. My managers genuinely care. I’ve learned more than I ever expected. Every day feels like I’m building towards something real. If someone had told me a year ago that I’d enjoy a 9–5 job, I would’ve laughed. Hard.
But here I am, grateful beyond words for that one post. A post I almost ignored; a post that led me to PalmPay; a post that gave me a career boost. Sometimes, saying yes to more starts with something as small as a tagged post after all.

2027: ADC will stop Tinubu from making Nigeria one-party state – David Mark

The interim national chairman of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, David Mark, has vowed that the coalition of opposition political parties will stop Nigeria from becoming a one-party state.
Mark stated this in Abuja on Wednesday, during the unveiling of the ADC as the platform for the coalition ahead of the 2027 elections.
He said: “This coalition goes beyond gaining political power. It is a concerted effort to rebuild the crumbling pillars of Nigeria’s democracy.”
Mark accused President Bola Tinubu’s administration of hijacking “all democratic institutions” and pushing Nigeria towards “total civilian dictatorship”.
The former senate president also claimed Tinubu is destabilising opposition parties in a bid to achieve “total state capture” and leave Nigerians with no alternative in the 2027 elections.
Mark insisted that the ADC was “not merely another electoral vehicle but a fortress and platform of our revived democracy.”

BREAKING: Ex-AGF, Malami dumps APC, joins ADC

Former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, has officially resigned from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
Malami announced his defection to the African Democratic Congress, ADC, on Tuesday, July 2, 2025, citing the party’s alignment with a new coalition aimed at rescuing Nigeria from what he described as “further decline.”
He noted that his decision was not made out of anger or ambition but inspired by love for Nigeria.
The statement of defection partly reads, ”My Fellow Nigerians, and the Good People of Kebbi State, After wide consultations and deep personal reflection, I hereby announce my resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and my decision to align with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), the party of choice for our coalition — a coalition driven by the urgent need to rescue our country from further decline.
”This is not a decision made out of anger or ambition, but one inspired by love for our nation and concern for the hardship our people are facing daily.
”Nigeria is bleeding. Insecurity has taken over our homes, especially in the North. Banditry, kidnappings, and terrorism have become part of our lives while the government prioritizes politics over the safety of its citizens.
”Our economy is in shambles. Prices of basic food items have tripled. The poor can no longer feed their families. Jobs are disappearing. Young people are hopeless. Instead of focusing on real solutions, the government is consumed by propaganda and political distractions.
”Governance has been abandoned. Appointments, projects, and policies are now guided by political loyalty and not national interest. I cannot remain part of a system that watches in silence as Nigerians suffer and die.
”This is why I am joining the ADC — a platform built on the values of justice, inclusion, competence, and national renewal. I believe that through this coalition and with the support of Nigerians, we can chart a new course for our beloved country.
”To the people of Kebbi State, I remain your son and servant. I will never abandon you. This move is to amplify your voice, protect your interests, and restore hope to our future.
”To every Nigerian, I urge you to join this movement. Let us rise above fear and reclaim our nation. Nigeria belongs to all of us.”
