President Bola Tinubu is set to present the highly anticipated list of his ministerial appointments to the National Assembly within the next 24 hours for review.
In a conversation with Punch, an anonymous presidential aide said that the President had used the maximum amount of time allowed to ensure that the list included the most qualified individuals for the countryโs future.
The source suggested that the list would primarily feature technocrats who would be instrumental in implementing President Tinubuโs Renewed Hope agenda over the next four years.
These technocrats will be accompanied by a selection of proven politicians.
The presidential aide stated, โPresident Bola Tinubu will transmit the ministerial list to the National Assembly tomorrow (today). He has stretched the transmission of the list to the federal lawmakers to ensure that he gets it right. One thing is certain, the list is going to be a mixture of technocrats and tested politicians.
โThe President has made it clear that his decisions for the next four years, starting with the ministerial list, would be guided by what is right for Nigeria and not political considerations.โ
When asked for specific names on the list, another aide, who spoke on condition of anonymity stated, โOne thing we have been told is that the ministerial list is something the Commander-in-Chief is keeping close to his chest.โ
Over the past weeks, various names have been floated as potential nominees, including former governors Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State and Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Monetary Policies Special Adviser Wale Edun, and several other technocrats and politicians.
