The Super Falcons of Nigeria dropped two places in the latest FIFA ranking released on Friday.

The nine-time African champions were previously ranked 32nd, but have now dropped to 34th position.

The Falcons, however, remain one in Africa.

The West Africans recorded impressive results in the 2024 Olympics and Womenโ€™s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Ethiopia and Cape Verde but it was not enough to improve their position on the ranking.

Meanwhile, Reigning womenโ€™s world champions Spain end the year as the number one ranked team, which is their first-ever feat.

At number two is former FIFA womenโ€™s World Cup winners USA, France are third, England maintained fourth and Sweden dropped to fifth.

The next FIFA womenโ€™s world ranking will be published in March 2024
