Former federal lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, has suggested that the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, be made to name people who may have looted the countryโs funds under the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
OsunDailyNG reports that Emefiele is currently in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).
Recall that he was suspended on June 10, 2023, by the incumbent President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The embattled CBN governor was on two counts of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
Aside from these, Emefiele has been criticized for some of his actions which have brought untold hardship on Nigerian citizens in the last tenure of former President Buhari.
Reacting, however, to the ongoing investigations about the suspended governor of the apex bank, Senator Sani, in a post via his Twitter page said the only solution is for Emefiele to list the names of all those involved in money sharing under the previous administration.
He insisted that the individuals should also be made to cough out the shared money. According to Sani, โall the grammarโ will stop when that is achieved.
He tweeted: โThe Solution to the problem is simply for the ex-CBN Governor to list the names of all those who were shared money under the Buhari administration and be made to cough out every cent back to the Government; then, we can make progress. All this โlong grammarโ is a waste of time.โ
