The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore has condemned the attack on supporters of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, (LP) Peter Obi in Lagos.
Naija News reports that @ObiFlagboy on Monday narrated how he was brutally attacked by thugs at the Oshodi area of Lagos State during his routine movement for his preferred candidate.
According to him, they went out as usual to display the #ObiDatti flag, when the hoodlums decesended, assaulted and even poured fuel on them, with their phones smashed for doing nothing wrong.
He further explained that a uniformed man tried to intervene, but his pleas fell on deaf ears as the thugs continued to hit them with the iron rod used to support the flag.
Reacting to the incident via Twitter on Sunday night, Sowore appealed to the Nigeria Police and the Department of Public Prosecution to prevail over the situation and charge suspected perpetrators.
According to Sowore, no Nigerian citizen deserves such level of cruelty over their political choices.
Sharing the videos of the young men, Sowore wrote; ”These are @NgLabour supporters of @PeterObi attacked and brutalised by @OfficialAPCNg supporters in lagos. It is criminal to subject any Nigerian citizen to this level of cruelty over their political choices @PoliceNG must prosecute them accordingly.”
