Farida Fasasi, the wife of the late Nigerian musician Olanrewaju Abdul-Ganiu, Fasasi popularly known as Sound Sultan has penned a heartfelt message to him on the anniversary of his death.
OsunDailyNG recalls that the deceased died on the 11th of July 2021 after loosing a battle with throat cancer in the United States of America.
Taking to Instagram to honour his second year memory, the widow wrote, “Today, I choose to celebrate you and honour your legacy. I choose to remember you in a good way. Omo iseyin, the one that loves his culture so much. My tall dark skinned Iseyin man.
“’Aboo’ is the fond name you called me. Our three beautiful kids miss you so much, they still remember everything about you, and it is funny how they talk about you like you are still here.
“Your siblings have been very supportive, and they try their best not to let us feel your absence in our lives. They also miss you every day.”
2face Idibia Reveals When He Will Stop Mourning Sound Sultan
Meanwhile, legendary singer, Innocent Idibia better known as 2Face Idibia on Tuesday paid tribute to his late friend and colleague Sound Sultan.
It would be recalled that the singer died in July, 2021 after battling Angioimmunoblastic T-Cell Lymphoma. He was aged 44.
This is the second anniversary of his death.
Taking to his Instagram, 2Face shared old photos of himself and the deceased, vowing to mourn his death till he joins the late singer.
Sound Sultan died after battling cancer of the throat.
Before his death, he underwent chemotherapy in the United States.
Last year, 2baba marked the first anniversary, stressing how badly he missed Sound Sultan.
“#GRATEFUL#Warrior. A GUY was light years ahead. Miss u till I join u,” he wrote.
“Mourn U till Eye join u,” he wrote.
