Forces from the Nigerian Joint Task Force, operating under Operation Hadin Kai, have eliminated six individuals suspected of terrorism during a clearance operation in the Sambisa forest of Borno state.

Renowned security analyst and counter-insurgency expert in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, confirmed this development in a statement on Monday.

According to Makama, the troops initiated an offensive targeting terrorist camps located in the Geizuwa area of Bama Local Government Area in Borno.

He also highlighted that the operation was carried out in collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).

โ€œThey advanced from Geizuwa and cleared terrorist enclaves in Sherori, Aljijari, Gajeri, and Arenari.

โ€œRecovered items included two dane guns, medications, soft drinks, sanitary supplies, and 15 motorcycle tubes,โ€ the report stated.

Makama reported that a member of the Civilian Joint Task Force sustained injuries during the operation and was subsequently transported to a medical facility for care.

In a related development, a prominent cleric in Sokoto State, Mallam Bello Asada, has accused the State Minister of Defence of purchasing Hilux vehicles to support bandits such as Sububu, Ada Allero, and Bello Turji, presenting video evidence to substantiate his claims.

He dismissed the bounty placed on Bello Turjiโ€™s head as a farce.

The cleric criticized the ministerโ€™s announcement of a โ‚ฆ20 million reward for information leading to Bello Turjiโ€™s capture, labelling it as a joke and a mere performance while asserting that the minister is well aware of Bello Turjiโ€™s whereabouts.
