The Nigerian Senate has begun the screening of the last batch of ministerial nominees today (Saturday) sent by President Bola Tinubu.
Recall that the President had on Wednesday, through his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, sent an additional list of 19 nominees to complement the previously sent 28 ministerial nominees.
The Red Chamber which was due to proceed on its long holiday by the end of July, suspended the holiday to ensure that the screening and confirmation of ministerial nominees is done before proceeding on the annual recess.
However, the Senate began the screening and clearing of the last batch of ministerial nominees with Mrs Lola Ade-John, who is from Lagos State.
Other nominees to be screened and cleared include Bosun Tijani (Ogun), Dr Isiak Salako (Ogun), Dr Tahir Mamman (Adamawa), Uba Maigari Ahmadu (Tarabara), Dr. Mariya Mahmoud (Kano) and Festus Keyamo (Delta).
