Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has acknowledged that the club will not be allocating funds for new signings during the January transfer window.
Following Manchester Unitedโs recent 2-0 loss to Newcastle at Old Trafford, marking their fourth consecutive defeat in all competitions, concerns have been raised about the squadโs adjustment to Amorimโs preferred 3-4-3 formation.
Despite these challenges, the 39-year-old remains focused on improving the team without expected financial support in January.
โWe donโt have that possibility in January,โ Amorim told reporters. โYouโre aware of the circumstances better than I am. Itโs not a matter of arriving here and having the chance to spend extensively to overhaul the team. Itโs not a productive conversation.โ
On the other hand, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expressed confidence in his playersโ readiness to compete fiercely against Liverpool in the Premier League title race.
Speaking to reporters ahead of their match against Brentford on New Yearโs Day, Arteta emphasized the need for determination and consistency.
The Gunners currently stand in third place, nine points behind Liverpool after 18 matches.
Arteta highlighted the importance of seizing opportunities when rivals falter, stating, โWe must continue to be relentless, ready to capitalize if others stumble. While our focus is solely on Brentford at the moment, we must keep our eyes on the big picture as we navigate a packed schedule in the coming weeks.โ
He added, โIf someone manages to win all their matches, weโll congratulate them and prepare for next season. However, history shows that isnโt always the case, and we want to be prepared to take advantage.โ
