Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara has welcomed the ruling by the Governorship Election Tribunal that upheld his election.
Governor Fubara described the rulings as the beginning of the confirmation of the trust expressed in him by the people of the state.
He restated his commitment not to disappoint the expectations of Rivers people at a brief thanksgiving service that was held at the Chapel of Everlasting Grace, Government House, Port Harcourt, Monday night.
The event was attended by some members of the State Executive Council and political leaders.
Fubara explained that the place of God in his administration will not be compromised and thanked the immediate past governor of Rivers State, now Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike for his immense support to his governorship bid and through the stages of the legal contest.
In a statement by the Senior Special Adviser to the Governor, Boniface Onyedi, the governor called for more support from Rivers people, appealing that they should be patient with his administration as it delivers good governance that will make their lives better.
