Nollywood actress, Rita Edochie has defended May Edochie after she was called out for not joining her estranged husband, Yul Edochie to mourn their late son, Kambili on his death anniversary.
OsunDailyNG understands that May Edochie had come under criticism after Yul Edochie posted an Instagram message remembering his son, however, May failed to replicate the act and this did not sit well with some netizens.
Reacting, Rita Edochie pointed out that May respectfully stayed off social media on that day to honour her son’s memory.
She added that even though it was May’s friend, Anita Joseph’s birthday on that day, May did not celebrate her until the following day.
Rita warned critics against telling a grown woman how to mourn.

In other news, Nollywood actor, Jerry Amilo, has dismissed speculations of shading May Edochie, in a recent social media video about infidelity in marriage.
OsunDailyNG reports that Jerry, in a video via his Instagram page a few days ago, spoke about a particular woman who walked away from her marriage of 18 years over infidelity but currently engaging in extramarital affairs with married men.
Although Jerry did not mention the woman’s name, netizens claimed that the message was directed at May, who separated from her husband, Yul Edochie, over his marriage to his colleague, Judy Austin, without her consent.
To set the record straight, Jerry clarified in a new video posted on Instagram on Friday that his message was not directed to May.
The thespian slammed fans over their habit of creating drama where none exists.
He also expressed dismay over the toxic culture of linking general comments to specific individuals and fueling dramas among celebrities in the entertainment industry.
Jerry noted that he greatly respects May but was less concerned about what happened in her marriage with Yul.
He further maintained that cheating should not warrant the dissolution of a marriage, adding that women who leave their homes over infidelity often end up worse off.
