Afrobeat singer Rema, born Divine Ikubor, has become the artiste with the most streamed African song in the history of the United States.
OsunDailyNG reports โCalm Downโ displaced CKayโs โLove Nwantitiโ which was hitherto the most streamed African song in US history.
The statistic was made known on Friday by an American music data compilation website, via its Twitter page.
It showed Remaโs Calm down as the most streamed Afrobeats song.
The statistics firm tweeted, โ@heisremaโs โCalm Downโ is now the #1 most streamed Afrobeats song in US history, surpassing @ckay_yoโs โlove nwantitiโ.โ
As of the time of filing this report, Rema, 23, had yet to react to his latest achievement.
โCalm Downโ became the highest-peaking Nigerian song (number three) on US Billboard Hot 100 following a remix with American superstar, Selena Gomez.
The song is also the first African song to top the American radio chart.

Meanwhile, Songs of Nigerian Grammy award-winning singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known asย Burna Boy, alongside his colleague, Ayra Starr, have been included in the 2023 summer playlist of former President of the United States of America, Barack Obama.
OsunDailyNGย reports that the 44th American leader unveiled the playlist via his Twitter handle on Thursday night, with songs of the two Nigerian singers as the only Afrobeat songs on the list.
Burna Boy made it to the list with his song โSitting On Top Of The Worldโ remix featuring 21 Sรฃvage, while Ayra Starr made it to the list with her 2023 hit song, โStabilityโ.
