Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has okayed the reduction of official work hours for civil servants in the state in the spirit of Ramadan.
The State Commissioner for Establishment, Pensions and Training, Auwal Manu-Dogondaji, disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday.
โThe official time frame has been reduced by two hours daily.
โConsequently, the new working hours from Monday to Thursday is 8:00a.m. to 2:00p.m., while on Friday it is from 8:00a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
โNormal working hours will be reverted to normal hours at the end of Ramadan period.โ
The commissioner further stated that the gesture was a demonstration of magnanimity by the governor in the spirit of Ramadan.
He said it was also to give civil servants the opportunity to discharge their normal religious activities with ease.
