The Jigawa State Government has announced a two-hour reduction in working hours for civil servants during the 2024 Ramadan fasting period.
A statement by the Head of Civil Service in the state, Muhammad Dagaceri, said workers will now commence work at 9 am and conclude at 3 pm from Monday to Thursday, as opposed to the usual 5 pm.
On Fridays, the working hours will be from 9 am to 1 pm.
Dagaceri said the adjustment aims to offer civil servants more time to prepare for Ramadan and engage in spiritual activities during the holy month.
The Head of Service expressed hope that this gesture would encourage civil servants to pray for God’s guidance and blessings for the state.
